MINUTES OF THE BENNINGTON COMMUNITY ANNUAL MEETING
Tuesday March 9, 2004
The meeting never officially came to order because there was no quorum.
Board members present: Wanda Harich, Jason Estock, David Lorms, Norene Guilford, Geovanny Fallas and Joan Falcao.
- Jill DeLisi (our community bookkeeper) spoke briefly about our HOA dues.
- Treasurer's Report (Jason Estock)
- Arrears - $18,000
- Our 2003 Audit is not yet complete.
- Jason reported that preliminary numbers show we are on target for a balanced budget.
- The following committees gave brief reports:
- Finance Committee --
Jason Estock described the finance committees' role in helping the Board come up with and utilize the budget more efficiently.
- Urban Growth Committee --
Linda Gore gave the residents a history of the urban growth committee and Metropolitan Grove/Master Plan. She reported that the woods near Bennington would mostly be left alone. Transit work will be done but not until Watkins Mill Road is extended and there is another exit off of 270. The Master Plan calls for the removal of the proposed station site from our woods. It will leave a school site open and will require that there be lots of traffic studies.
- Pool Committee --
It was announced that Community Pool would once again be our Pool Company.
- Swim Team Committee --
Robert Fireovid and Flavia Bastos talked about the upcoming swim season, our wonderful coaches and described all of the fun activities the swim team has planned for this summers swim season. They urged residents to participate and support the swim team even if they have no children swimming.
- Architectural Committee --
A brief report on the role the architectural committee plays in keeping our community beautiful.
- Communications Committee --
Norene Guilford (Board Liaison) talked about the Crier and how it will now be distributed to the community every two months. The next Crier will be in April. If any residents have any articles they would like to submit, please send them to the Administrative office. Alberta Lorms and Greg Mott have graciously offered to put the Crier together.
Joan Falcao briefly talked about Bennington's website and all the additions and changes that have been made to it.
- Landscaping Committee --
Wanda Harich (Board Liaison) talked about some of Bennington's past and future landscape projects. She announced that Bennington's annual spring clean up will take place on April 17th, 2004
- Common Grounds
- Clubhouse Committee
- Welcoming Committee
- Parking Committee --
Joan Falcao gave an update on the parking committees progress. The Reserved parking passed and now the hard part begins. The parking committee would like the input of our residents when it comes to deciding how the reserved spaces will be allocated.
Wanda Harich let the residents at the meeting know how much Bennington relies on its volunteers to help make this a beautiful and safe place to live. She asked that they all consider joining one or more of the committees.
